Professional Development for Schools

My services include professional development coaching & workshops tailored to your environment. Professional development includes either the Highlands Ability Battery or EQ-i 2.0 assessment as a foundation to ensure you and your team are on a path for success.

Your group is most likely responsible for teamwork, coping with stress, resolving conflict, creating positive work environments, leading through change, and cultivating leadership in others. The outcome of working together provides self-awareness and growth so that the group can achieve the missions and goals of your school district.

Professional development coaching and workshops are designed for Superintendents, Principals, Assistant Principals, Aspiring Principals, and School Administration. By working together, we can ensure that employees are in the best role and receiving the best support.

Individuals will obtain new insights about themselves as they seek to accomplish the mission, values, and goals for your school. The insight from EQ-i 2.0 helps:

  • manage student discipline issues
  • develop teachers
  • focus on student achievement
  • improve instruction
  • work through processes and decisions
  • and shape a vision for academic success

The team learns effective communication methods and other skills to foster positivity and productivity among the group.

Highlands Ability Battery Assessment

The Highlands Assessment helps helps determine what you do best by revealing your natural talents, gifts, and abilities. The assessment instrument reveals your cognitive strengths, which in turn provides meaningful information for you as a professional. It is an objective way to assess various qualities in a virtual online format. There is no pass/fail or good grades/bad scores. Most of the assessment is a series of engaging online games, called work samples.

The difference between the Highlands Ability Battery and other popular assessment tools – Myers Briggs (MBTI), Strong, DiSC, is that the Highlands assesses the performance of objective tasks that measure natural abilities. The Highlands reveals information about your approach to problem-solving, decision-making style, preferences for working alone or in groups, learning techniques that help recall pertinent details, and understand your influence and impact within teams and with others.  A sample of the leadership report can be found here.

EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment

Emotional Intelligence is the skill of effectively perceiving and expressing ourselves, developing and maintaining social relationships, making good decisions, and managing stress. Exploring and developing Emotional Intelligence:

  • and determines how well others receive our messages and how well they listen to us

For emerging leaders and leaders, the EQ-i 2.0 subscales are strongly related to leadership competencies that correlate with productivity, decreased employee turnover, and increased efficiency.  A leader who embodies leadership competencies is more likely to increase work satisfaction, create trust, and foster organizational commitment and loyalty.

Regardless of whether a group has collaboration and cohesion or finds itself with conflicting opinions and strategies that affect the balance of a group, EQ-i 2.0 can be used when looking for deeper insight into a groups’ strengths as well as areas where the group can be more effective.
